10/12 - To accommodate for the uniqueness of each plaintiff’s injuries and damages, typically an “Allocation” or “Compensation” methodology is created, and a Special Master is typically appointed to apply that Methodology. In this program we will discuss how individual settlement amounts are determined and introduce the methodologies utilized to do so.
The presenter and writer of the program, Matt Garretson, has spent 25 years of his life helping to design and administer large scale settlement programs, such as the World Trade Center First Responders, the BP Oil Spill, several Sexual Abuse settlements involving universities and religious organization and dozens of settlements involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He is the author of the textbook titled, “Negotiating and Settling Tort Cases,” that lays out how settlement programs should operate.
